What is Diwali?
Diwali Festival of Lights is India’s best-loved festival, and is an
ancient Hindu festival that symbolises the triumph of light over
darkness and the renewal of life. It is a time for celebration in India
and by Indian diasporas abroad, with families lighting lamps, candles
and fireworks to symbolise the triumph of light over darkness, good
over evil. We have been studying Diwali this week. We have been writing, publishing stories and making our own rangoli patterns.
