Narrative writing

Last week I introduced narratives to our class.  The tamariki have really enjoyed working with narratives.  Here is some of their fantastic work. Please click on the pages to enlarge.  This week we will be reading our stories with fotobabble and voicethread!  Watch this  space!

Congratulations Cade. 100 nights of reading

As part of our reading programme - I reward each tamaiti when they reach 100 nights of reading.  It is not easy and usually takes 6 months.  When each child achieves 100 nights reading they get to have a theme party of their choice. Cade chose a RED party.  We are all really proud that our friend Cade achieved this great milestone!   Tino pai e hoa!   Mauri ora Whaea Carly

Panui tuatahi

Kia ora whanau!
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday.  It is great to be in our new class (Room 10), the tamariki have settled in quickly. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Kahu and his family to our Te Pouahi whanau. We have 11 tamariki in our class, and they are just awesome!  Just a couple reminders...
We swim every day apart from Thursday.  Please pack togs and towel ( you may want goggles too).
I am trying to start the year with good habits - Can we please have kopaki (book bag) returned every day
The children earn free time at the end of the week if they consistently return their kopaki.  Please pack a drink bottle, it has been really hot.  I have sent out some contact detail sheets, can you please return it ASAP with your up to date details.  The tamariki have made a wonderful start to the year.  If you would like to come in as parent help, please come and see me. I would love to have you.

Have a great week whanau

Mauri ora
